My Political Review: The Political Crisis in the Arab Countries Since the Cold War

Western ideology has a great of influence on the cultural, the social, and the political institutions in these Arab countries. Most Western governments are trying to impose their own system of values such as human rights, democracy, and freedom of expression on these countries. Most Western governments do not realise that the Arabs established their own system of political and cultural institutions in their countries for a long time. Most Western governments provided money and military equipment to these dictators in North Africa and the Middle East. These Arab dictators control the wealth and the power in their countries. These dictatorship governments are key allies to the Western powers since the cold war. There is a huge gap between the rich and the poor in these Arab countries. Most young adults are educated but unemployed in their society. Most young adults live in absolute poverty in their countries. A small minority of Arabs share the wealth with these dictators who usually work for them. Some of these dictatorship governments are permanent allies with Israel today.

The United Nations decided to establish the state of Israel in the Middle East in 1948. The creation of Israel was a beacon of hope and prosperity for the Jewish population who survived the Holocaust in World War II. Most Western governments recognised Israel as a country in the Middle East since 1948. Most Arab governments did not recognise Israel as a country in 1948. Most Arabs countries saw the government of Israel as a puppet administration created by the Western powers. Some Arabs countries went to war against Israel since its creation by the United Nations. Israel was victorious against their Arab neighbours. Some of the Arab countries lost their territories in the war against Israel. The Israeli government created territories for settlement after they conquered from their Arab neighbours. Most Arabs live in absolute poverty in these territories occupied by Israel. Most Western governments do not realise that the creation of Israel as a country started a political upheaval with their Arab allies in the region .The government of Israel is a bit worried about the internal problems that their Arab neighbours are dealing with at the moment. The government of Israel has several peace treaties with these dictatorship governments.

Most young Arabs are frustrated with their current living situation in their oppressive societies. Most young Arabs want to have social change in their countries’ constitutions. They want to have the same social equality in life style that you find in Western societies today. The internet is a powerful tool in the hands of these young adults. The social websites such as facebook and twitter are becoming very popular on the internet for young adults in the region of North Africa and the Middle East. Facebook and twitter are becoming the tools for a peace revolution in the countries in North Africa and the Middle East. Most Western governments are supporting these young rebels with their struggle against these dictatorship governments in their societies. Sometimes, a peaceful revolution does not work like the current situation in Libya. Peaceful means are useful in certain situations, but in others, military means are the only way to resolve their situations.
